Lynn B. Ogden is Managing Director of Essential Mastery, a talent management company with global perspective and a distinct Asian flavor. She brings an effective blend of executive search, management consulting and executive coaching gained over twenty-five years in Asia and the U.S.
Previously, Ms. Ogden served as Senior Client Partner for Korn/Ferry International, a leading global talent management firm, where she focused on recruiting and consulted a broad spectrum of senior executives in the consumer products, supply chain, retail/fashion, entertainment, internet and media fields. Prior to returning to the United States, Ms. Ogden spent nearly two decades in the firm’s Hong Kong office where she served as Regional Market Leader for the Global Consumer practice and led a 30-person team across Asia-Pacific.
In 2008, she helped launch Korn/Ferry’s Sustainability Center of Excellence focusing on alternative energy, corporate social responsibility and Chief Sustainability Officer roles. In addition to her search work, she conducts management assessment projects for both global and Asian companies. Her clients have included Coca-Cola, Colgate, Richemont, Fila, iReality Group, Western Union, Viacom, Turner Broadcasting, Seagram, Bristol-Myer Squibb, Avon, Blockbuster, Donna Karan, Payless Shoes, Coach, Nike, Disney/BVI, Chanel, CNBC Asia, Tiffany, DFS Group, Omnicom, American Chamber of Commerce, Lee Kum Kee, Legacy Health System, Pre-Cash Inc., EB Brands, Mark Ecko Enterprises, AETN International, McCann Worldgroup, Clarins, Lear Corporation, The Ford Family Foundation and the University of Oregon.
Prior to that engagement, Ms. Ogden worked in strategic market consultancy and executive search at Technomic Consultants Asia. She began her career in supply chain/logistics for Santa Fe Transport International based in Beijing.
In Hong Kong, she served on the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce from 1997 to 2002, the Development Board of the Chinese International School from 2003 to 2006 and as a founding Patron of the Society of Aids Concern. Today, she is a Trustee of Maitripa College, a non-profit higher learning institute in Portland, Oregon, and serves on the Alumni Board of Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio.
A Mandarin speaker, she holds a BA in Asian Studies from Wesleyan University and a Masters in Buddhist Studies from the University of Hong Kong. She has training in Decision Dynamics, Lominger competency-based assessment tools and TILT360.
A frequent traveler, she lives with her family in Portland, Oregon and enjoys yoga, hiking, skiing, and connecting people with ideas and new opportunities.
